King Edward VI School Gymnasium

Stratford-upon-Avon, United Kingdom

Thorlux Lighting is committed to the goals of the circular economy, offering a complete retrofitting service to convert existing non-LED light fittings or to upgrade older LED luminaires to the latest energy-saving technology.

In one recent example, Thorlux has used retrofitted Solow XLED luminaires to re-light the school gymnasium at King Edward VI School in Stratford-Upon-Avon. Thorlux previously supplied these fittings to an industrial client who later opted to upgrade to new Visio Pro luminaires. After the Solow luminaires were returned to Thorlux HQ and inspected, it was clear that they still had the potential to be used further.

Thorlux was able to arrange the re-use of the Solow lights with King Edward VI; the luminaires were cleaned, refurbished with new drivers and upgraded to SmartScan wireless controls. A local contractor was engaged to install the revitalised luminaires, helping to minimise the carbon footprint further.
