One of the main challenges when designing residential buildings is to provide well lit communal areas whilst eliminating light trespass into adjacent properties.
Conventional luminaires project light forward with little or no optical control, resulting in a space that varies between bright and dim, creating shadows that can obscure facial detail.
By designing the Prismalette PRO with LEDs at the edge of the reflector it is possible to provide excellent optical control to overcome these challenges, making the Prismalette PRO the ideal choice for wall and ceiling mounting in walkways, both internally and externally. The unique design limits obtrusive light entering neighbouring windows and yet provides additional light on vertical surfaces, eliminating shadows on faces and therefore increasing the feeling of security for residents.

The Prismalette PRO produces a security beam providing an illumination boost that is closer to the doorway than from a conventional luminaire. This improves facial recognition of doorstep callers, increasing the feeling of security for residents.

When ceiling mounted the light distribution of the Prismalette PRO provides excellent vertical illumination along corridors and walkways whilst also increasing the spacing of luminaires and improving uniformity. The high cut-off angle ensures more light is projected at head height so that residents can easily see and recognise the faces of others.

The optical control of the Prismalette PRO is designed to position light where needed.
Ceiling mounted versions provide a lateral distribution focussing light along the walkway in both directions reducing light into residents’ windows.
Wall mounted versions focus light along the walkway and directly downwards towards the floor, whereas a conventional alternative illuminates the opposite wall, often through the window of the adjacent property.
With light being focussed laterally along the walkway the perception of glare is dramatically reduced when compared with a conventional alternative.

Reflector module
UV stabilised polycarbonate reflector moulding with Miro 851 highly reflective inserts providing wide light distribution and excellent vertical illumination.

LED light chambers
Highly reflective UV stabilised white polycarbonate housing with replaceable LED PCBs and Thorlux patented current sharing technology ensuring that if any LED fails others in the same circuit will increase in output to offset the loss in flux.

Control gear
Fully replaceable control gear with an option for integral emergency, AutoTest, DALI and SmartScan Emergency components to operate for three hours in the event of power failure. All electronic components have the same rated life as the LEDs.

Silicone gasket
Long life thermally stable silicone gasket which will maintain the IP rating for the life of the luminaire.

Die-cast aluminium body
A strong high pressure die-cast LM2 aluminium body which is deep enough to accept conduit entry. Full polyester powder coated for a durable long lasting finish.
Slim profile design
The 3mm thick polycarbonate cover is shallow and unobtrusive. The strong high pressure die-cast LM2 aluminium body is deep enough to accept conduit entry and is full polyester powder finished black as standard with white as an option. With a high impact rating of IK10 and IP66 ingress protection rating the Prismalette PRO is suitable for the most demanding of environments.
Retro-fit module
Easy upgrade module 2D to LED in 80 seconds!
The Prismalette PRO Retro-fit module combines a replacement polycarbonate cover and light engine assembly and is fully compatible with any existing 2D Prismalette. Retrofitting the module can be achieved without the need to rewire. By simply unscrewing the existing cover, then removing and unplugging the existing gear tray the Prismalette PRO Retro-fit module will plug into the existing connector. The module is secured with four cover screws making the luminaire operational and ready to use in 80 seconds.
