Worcestershire Royal Hospital

Worcester, United Kingdom

Thorlux recently completed installation of two Passway EV illuminated charging bollards at the Worcestershire Royal Hospital’s Kings Court site, upgrading the restricted charging provision to a dedicated EV infrastructure solution.

The Worcestershire Royal is part of the Worcestershire Acute Hospitals Trust, opened in 2002. The busy facility has five hundred beds and nine operating theatres. It provides a range of specialist services for the whole county.

The Thorlux Project Management team oversaw the delivery of the new charging bollards. The project included the installation of power supplies, underground ducting, EV bases, protective barriers, and EV bay markings.

As part of the works, Thorlux managed the upgrading of the existing electrical infrastructure to provide a safe, compliant, and future-ready solution, integrated with a charger management and user access system.

The 2025 launch of the NHS ChargePoint Accelerator Scheme from the Department of Transport has empowered Trusts to push forward with the transition to electric vehicles. Thorlux is a long-standing, well-recognised supplier of luminaires and lighting control systems to NHS Trusts around the UK. However, Thorlux also offers vehicle charging products including the innovative Passway EV, which combines signature Thorlux high-efficiency outdoor lighting with fast vehicle powering. Thorlux is honoured to help NHS organisations like the Worcestershire Acute Hospitals Trust on the road to lower emissions.
