Thorlux has the first ‘LIA Laboratories Registered Photometric Laboratory’

Posted on Monday, February 9, 2015

The LIA Laboratories have announced that Thorlux Lighting has become an ‘LIA Laboratories Registered Photometric Laboratory’, their first registration to the new scheme.

LIA Laboratories, a subsidiary of the Lighting Industry Association (LIA), operates the “Sphere Photometry Scheme” which verifies the capability of a manufacturer’s laboratory to test all normal types of lighting products using an integrating sphere, and the “Gonio Photometry Scheme” which verifies capability to test using a far field gonio-photometer.

These Schemes are important as they provide an assurance of the validity of the photometric data published by Thorlux in relation to the performance of their lighting products. Manufacturers like Thorlux Lighting, who meet the requirements of the schemes, are permitted to describe their Laboratory as an ‘LIA Laboratories Registered Photometric Laboratory’.
