modern schools/universities and hospitals whilst also providing an excellent retrofit solution for
existing establishments.
Its ultra slim design and clean white lines ensure that the Kanby LED
offers a contemporary and subtle lighting solution.
Kanby LED Features
Diffuser
The white satinised polycarbonate diffuser achieves excellent efficiency while being tough enough to withstand the rigours of decades of use in areas subject to occasional abuse from students or the general public.
Body
The strong metal body and screw fixed metal ends are tamper resistant; access to the internal components is only possible with the use of a screwdriver via the end cap.
LEDs
The use of LEDs combined with a high performance diffuser, and a target life expectancy of over 60,000 hours, ensures low energy and maintenance costs. Smart versions are also available for intelligent lighting control.
Strong End Caps

Evolution of the Kanby
Since 1979 the Kanby luminaire has been a mainstay of the Thorlux product range, lighting schools, hospitals and factories throughout the UK and overseas. The Kanby has evolved with the changing demands of end users and now offers an energy efficient, sophisticated and modern feel to any lighting application.
LED Technology
The Kanby LED uses medium power LEDs mounted onto specially designed circuit boards which
provide excellent thermal management and LED failure protection. The satinised polycarbonate
diffuser achieves outstanding efficiency,
123.2 LL/CW, whilst offering
superior optical performance.
Slim Profile
The slim, contemporary design of the Kanby LED ensures that the luminaire is both discrete and easy to maintain. The compact nature of LEDs means that the luminaire is now 72% smaller than the original T8 version yet highly more efficient.
